rose

Ellen Huang

When did you enchant me?
your softness, your sweetness
your pink light, your unfolding red
elegance, become whipped cream &
garden, bubble & tea in the air.
I must be growing white rabbit ears
to match this fairy tale appetite for
the drinks painted rose—
every time I infuse nature's symbol of
love I want to take petals between my
teeth
and eat it instead.
