dinner, with whom?

Louise He

The candle lights reflect these faces bright,

My guests sit ‘round the table. I implore:

“Anne, do you like your diary in the lights?

Jane, why not publish your works I adore?

Miss Cleopatra, was your love worth death?

And Kennedy, you may please be at ease;

A myth remains, the shot that took your breath.

Bach, why devote a lifetime into keys?”

My head then burst as these big questions fought,

With sounds of sirens booming and prolonged.

They scream and clash and brawl untamed, these thoughts!

But then remains in golden silence long.

A window crack and sanity restored!

A gust of wind brings darkness; guests no more.
