all things converging, a palm-hearted
sunburst, a knee there, a soft pate here.
I remember at school, how you always climbed
the trees alone. Scrapes, bruises. Twigs that
kissed you all too readily. For years, a cipher
until we could speak in tongues. Becoming and
unbecoming, a weave bound so tight
I can’t put my mouth around it. You can’t
unmake me. You are so far in
we can’t go back.
