OUR MISSION
According to an article in The New York Times, author diversity in publishing has increased. However, there is still a large disparity gap where, “non-Hispanic white people account for 60 percent of the U.S. population; in 2018, they wrote 89 percent of the books in our sample” (NYT, 2020). The Aurora Journal aims to uplift the voices and publishing gaps of young people of color and other marginalized communities through surrealistic poetry and prose.
